Sweater vests have been all the rage lately, but they can be tricky to craft into stylish outfits!


Celebrities and influencers have been wearing them and they manage to pull them off so, you can too!


The good news is there are plenty of affordable brands selling trendy styles in various colors, prints, and fabrics. Some are classic and some are updated with cropped cuts and funky patterns.


You can also find authentic and vintage sweater vests at your local thrift stores, consignment shops, and on resale apps. Plus, thrifting is a great way to be more sustainable and eco-friendly.


My favorite way to wear a sweater vest is to pair it with a skirt. For this classic look, opt for an oversized sweater vest with a white tennis skirt.


Reach for a white button-down underneath the vest and add some white sneakers with matching crew socks.


I added a baby blue shoulder bag, claw hair clip, gold mini hoop earrings, and a layered chain necklace to accessorize.


Argyle-printed vests are a super cute take on the classic trend and lately they have been seen everywhere.


I paired an oversized blue one with black, ripped mom jeans. You can either wear the sweater vest alone or with a white mock neck long sleeve underneath for extra warmth.

However, there are pieces out there. It just requires some searching and, for some people, finding the confidence to wear trendy clothing. (I promise, you can wear whatever you want!)


Below, I ve compiled tons of fashion inspiration for plus-size women and tips for shopping for specific clothing pieces. There are stylish and cute outfits for different scenarios and info on the best stores to shop for plus-size pieces.


Remember: If you are plus size, it doesn t mean you can t be fashionable and find clothing that makes you feel good. Read on for my best tips on dressing well as a plus-size woman.


It s the fall season, and I m excited about the weather, the activities (apple picking!), and, of course, the outfits.


Like most of us, I love fall fashion because of the layering opportunities. However, layering can be a tricky subject for plus-size women. Many of us have been told that layering too much will make us look too big. Know that you can wear whatever you want and if you are comfortable in it, you ll look great!


Here are some plus-size fall outfit ideas that are trendy, stylish, and comfortable and even include some cute layers so you can be fashion-forward this season.


For the first plus-size fall outfit, we are styling a sweater vest. This season, sweater vests are trendy yet again. They re also a great way to look cute and preppy while keeping warm in the cool fall weather.


Start with a sweater vest and layer it on top of a blouse or button-up shirt. Next, add a denim skirt or pants with some heels. This look would be perfect for going to dinner with friends!

Throw on this comfy sweater since some dentist offices can be chilly. A pair of jeans or a cute skirt adds to the casual look. Some tan shoes complement this sweater and skirt, giving this outfit a cute, but casual feel.


If heels aren’t your thing to wear to a dentist appointment, that’s okay! Swap them out for a pair of white sneakers and you’ll be good to go.

For our next plus-size outfit, we are going with something more simple and cute. This green cardigan will look amazing for a more casual day.

Over the past few years, work-from-home and online classes have become commonplace. I have seen many articles about loungewear outfits to wear at home, but not as many about plus-size loungewear.


I know it s hard to find fashion inspiration and articles dedicated to plus-size fashion on mainstream fashion websites. You have to do extra digging, but I promise it s possible to find cute loungewear in extended sizes.


So here are some plus-size loungewear outfits for at-home routines. They are Zoom call-friendly, but they are also great options if you need to run errands or go for a walk.


The first outfit is an excellent look if you have an online class at 8 am but have to head out right after. With fall coming soon, a jacket like this tan one will keep you cozy. Throw on a pair of matching joggers and some white dad sneakers when you head out for the day.


If you don t want to do your hair that day, pull it back into a ponytail or bun with a scrunchie. Now you ll look camera-ready while on Zoom and look great as you run errands.

Since I work from home, I can get into a rut of just wearing pajamas, but even loungewear can help elevate your mood when you need to get work or homework done. So try this look that is both comfortable and cute.

I struggle to find cute plus-size matching sets, but sometimes, I come across one that catches my eye. This cropped jacket and pants set from Forever 21 is a cute and relaxed outfit to wear while studying at home or running errands.


Wear it with some slides or even white sneakers, and you ll look comfortable as you type up your notes.


Here is another relaxed loungewear look that is super cozy and cute, and it couldn t be simpler to put together. Get a grey half zip-up sweater and some matching pants to create the look. Slip on a pair of Converse to finish it off.


This look would suit a Zoom class or a video call with friends. Wear this out to get coffee or even for a walk in the park.


It s the Holiday season, which means you should start shopping for a perfect holiday dress!


I am always looking for dresses for holidays, events, or casual occasions. Therefore, I ve come up with a list of stores that carry cute plus-size holiday dresses. Here are six places to start your holiday fashion shopping:


Modcloth has a vintage style, which I love, while ASOS tends to carry trendy pieces. On the other hand, Torrid has more cute daytime dresses than the others, though you can find some evening dresses. So if you are looking for a more cool nighttime holiday dress, try ASOS first.


All three stores carry a variety of colors and styles of dresses, and they all lean toward a younger audience, though Modcloth sometimes veers away because of its vintage style.


Nordstrom is a department store, so the clothing can be pricey here. You have to look for markdowns, and you can find some great pieces. Lane Bryant and Kohl s are a little more affordable, but they also have dresses that can get pricey. So again, you have to be willing to dig.


It is hard to come by a well-fitting pair of plus-size pants. Though they are must-haves for wardrobes, getting that perfect pair can be challenging.


When shopping, I have to keep my size and my inseam in mind, as well as which cut of pants I want, like straight leg or wide leg. With all this in mind, here are my best tips for finding pants for plus-size women, and the best places to shop.


Find out which different styles each brand carries. Brands will have multiple fits, usually for different body shapes and leg openings like a straight or wide leg. If you are looking for a particular cut or leg opening, don t be afraid to spend some time looking or if you are in the store, ask a staff member for help. Pick what works for you, and what makes you feel most comfortable.

Understand that every store is different, and no two pairs of pants are the same. Always try your pants on before purchasing! I try to shop for things like this in person, but if you can t, look for a size chart on the websites you order from and measure yourself if you are unsure of your size.

When you do try on pants, test them out. Please sit down, walk around, and move as much as possible to ensure they are a perfect fit. If they re too constricting anywhere, try another pair. You don t want to be uncomfortable or pull up your pants if they keep falling.

Regarding fabric, I like to go for cotton for my pants, but with spandex. It works for me since I want a breathable material that still stretch. Spandex really helps pants to fit a variety of body shapes.

Remember to pay attention to the inseam. As a tall girl, I often forget to do that, and then I wonder why the pants don t reach my ankles. Depending on your height, inseams usually come in petite or short (sometimes extra short), regular, tall, or long (sometimes extra tall or long). Each store differs in what they offer, so keep that in mind.

Torrid and Lane Bryant offer various lengths in their pants, which is great if you re tall like me. Note: Old Navy doesn t have many length options for their plus size range. However, in all three stores, you can find stretchy and comfortable pants!


Macy s and JCPenney are department stores, but they both carry a variety of plus size pants. You can find some gems, especially if you re seeking out stylish and more conservative pants. Also, the two stores have clearance and sales often, so be on the lookout for that to get some deals when you shop.


ASOS is great for trendy and stylish pieces, but you won t find much in terms of conservative pants to wear to work. But if you want something fashionable, definitely check out their range.


Also, all three stores vary in their pant length options, depending on brand. So make sure to pay attention to what length the pants are if you shop from ASOS, Macy s, or JCP.


During summertime, you might have a job or internship. And if you have a dress code, putting an outfit together can be a challenge. Plus, because it s summer, you want to wear something that won t be too hot or too chilly in the A/C.


If you want a relaxed but dressy outfit to wear to work, this look is for you! This outfit is business casual and is simple and chic with a pop of color.


Wear these green wide-leg pants with a cute white blouse like this one! Pair the look with some heels like these strappy heels. Flats work if you don t want to wear heels, or swap in loafers. Finish with a cute tote bag and statement earrings. Now you ll be ready to take on the day!


Wide-leg pants are not only trendy this season, they also allow air to circulate, while also being comfortable and conservative for long days at the office.


Pair some with a striped button-up shirt for a professional look. You can roll up the sleeves or wear them down. I love to wear strappy heels with my wide-leg pants, but if your office dress code is conservative, opt for closed-toe pumps or flats.


To create this look, get a dress like this one that comes in a fall color, such as this stunning red. Then, pair it with some cute heels. Finally, grab a clutch, and you ll be ready to head out.


For this next look, we have a cute, chic, and easy outfit. To start, grab a simple belted shirt dress like this white one.


Pair it with some heels for a casual office outfit. Flats are also perfect for this outfit. For some added sparkle, wear some hoop earrings. They re fun but still give off a polished look. Finally, carry a brown bag with you, and you ll be ready for the day!


Matching skirt suit sets are an important part of every corporate wardrobe, so I recommend investing in a few in different colors. You could go for a set that s more colorful or a more subtle color like this dark blue.


Pair a white blouse or button-up shirt skirt. Next, add your blazer and slip on some heels to pull the look together. Feel free to add a bag or jewelry to make this outfit shine!


Let s face it: It s hard to keep cool in the summer heat, especially when you re wearing work attire. That s where sleeveless tops come in. And don t worry: In all but the most conservative workplaces, you can wear a sleeveless top and still look professional. So try a sleeveless top, but wear pants and heels to keep the look office-appropriate.


You can also add some fun accessories to spice up the outfit. Also, pro-tip: if it s sweltering, tie your hair back in a bun or use a headband to keep it out of your face.


A well-fitting bra is a staple in every woman s wardrobe. However, it s tricky to find one that fits you well.


I, for one, have a smaller chest, even though I am plus size. So it is difficult for me to find smaller cups with a larger band size. Plus, going to clothing stores and getting the wrong measurements or not even finding my size can be frustrating.


Here are my best tips and tricks for finding the perfect bra and some places to find the best plus-size bras.


Make sure to measure. I recommend measuring yourself at home, but if you are worried about getting it wrong or don t want to, don t be afraid to go into a store and ask to be measured.

Understand that there are different breast shapes and different bras that will support you. Each body is distinct, and we have bras that help us for various reasons. The bra that works for your best friend might not be a winner for you. So shop around to find your perfect one.

Make a note of what you want your bra to do for you. For you want a full-coverage bra? What about one to create cleavage? What style do you want, a racerback or strapless? It all depends on what you are looking for in a bra.

Still, with the stores offering clearance sales and the number of options, they re all great options. My personal favorite is Avenue. It is slightly cheaper than Lane Bryant, and sometimes they ll have fun patterned bras too.


The brand does have a fit test on its website to help you determine your size, but I also recommend measuring at home before you order.


You may also need help with coat shopping. Getting one or two coats will be a good idea, so you are prepared for colder weather and possibly even snow.


Here are my best tips for plus-size coat shopping and the top plus-size stores to find your perfect winter coat.


My number one rule is to try on the coat whenever possible. I like to frequent lots of stores in person and this always works the best for me. However, as a plus-size person, I know it can be hard to find your size in stores, and even if you do find your size, the coat might be too tight and snug in some areas. So if you do shop online, pay close attention to the piece s measurements.

Make sure you have room for layering. Even if you get your size and it fits, is there enough room for you to wear a thick sweater underneath? Make sure it s roomy enough for layers.

ASOS s Curve line has got to be my favorite in terms of style. It has trendy coats, but its prices aren t the most budget-friendly, and there is not much variety in the pieces. But if you can splurge, you ll be sure to find something.


Boohoo and Old Navy are very affordable, and they also have some quality coats if you look around. (Always read the reviews!) Pro tip: If you are ordering online from Boohoo, make sure to follow the size chart. I have ordered from them before, and I ve found their clothing can run big, even when I get my usual size.


Amazon can be difficult to navigate, but if you look through specifically for women s plus-size clothing, you can find some great sweaters and coats in plus sizes. I found coats that go up to size 6x! Plus, Amazon generally has a great return policy and fast shipping for Prime members.


And finally, to wrap up this guide, we ll discuss the best overall places to buy plus-size clothes.


It is hard finding cute, fashionable, and youthful clothing pieces in plus sizes for a reasonable price. I have been into online thrifting lately, but sometimes I still want clothing from a name-brand store. So, if you have trouble finding plus-size clothing, this is for you!


Many stores don t carry more than a size 12 or 14. Others, if they do have plus sizes, have them online only or not many choices in a small section of their store. The stores listed below, however, have an extensive range of sizes to choose from:


Right now, Girlfriend Collective is a great place to shop for plus-size basics. Sure, they are known for their activewear, but they are coming out with lines of dresses and swimwear!


I like that Girlfriend Collective is more sustainable than other brands. And though it can be pricey, they have sales and clearance items too. So I think it s worth it to splurge on pieces here. And if you need plus-size activewear, this is the absolute best place to shop.


With thousands of pieces of stylish and trendy clothing, ASOS is a fashion mecca. And the best part is, their Curve line offers tons of cool, unique pieces in a range of plus sizes.


ASOS is a great go-to store when seeking out specific statement pieces. When you want some patterned pants, for instance, you should look here first!


You will most likely want to shop online when browsing Torrid, but it s nice to have another exclusive plus-size store available at the mall.


You can shop here for shoes as well as clothing! The clothing is stylish and trendy, and their pants have a lot of stretch in them.


Old Navy is a favorite for its casual clothing and also its jeans. As I mentioned previously, it is hard to find jeans for plus size and tall people, but you can at Old Navy. They also have lovely clothing pieces at reasonable prices. (And don t sleep on their leggings!)


Eloquii is a great place to shop if you re looking for work pieces or going out attire. They carry gorgeous, fashionable clothing that s specifically made for plus-size women.


I ll be honest, I don t shop here as much as the other stores on the list because their pieces are pricey. However, it is still a good place for plus-size clothing if you don t mind splurging, and it goes up to size 28.


Avenue is an excellent place to get bras and underwear. But the clothing was for an older audience, and I still think that s true today.


Avenue is great for some pieces, but if you shop here, it is for coats and underwear. Also, it can be a bit pricey so keep that in mind.


To me, H M+ can be hit or miss. I tried pants from here, and that wasn t the best idea. I find the sizing runs very small, which gets frustrating after a while. Instead, I usually get dresses and tops here, which tend to run true to size.


Boohoo is an amazing store to buy trendy plus-size pieces, but in my experience, the quality isn t high. Most of the items I ve bought here haven t lasted a long time.


I wouldn t suggest shopping here for classics or pieces you ll wear daily, but for trendy items that you don t see yourself wearing for years, it s a great place to shop.


For a long time, I only shopped for home goods at Target. I ignored the clothing section except during holidays when buying presents. But I ve found that the store has improved its clothing section in recent seasons, and I have seen many cute pieces!


Amazon carries a wide array of plus-size items. I recently bought shoes from them, which I love. They have a huge selection of cute basics and everything seems to come in a million colors.

Every year without fail, away football games, homecoming, and my sorority’s Big Little night always seem to fall right around Halloween, leaving me with pretty much zero funds to invest in an awesome costume.


So, what’s a girl to do when she’s broke but still wants an amazing costume? Find free Halloween costume ideas, that’s what.


Don’t worry friends, CF is to the rescue! In this post, I’ve listed 58 non-lame and non-lazy easy Halloween costumes that you can create from pieces that you (or one of your BFFs) will certainly have in your closet.


A cheerleader is always a cute Halloween costume idea, and it s pretty simple to pull off.


To make this costume, all you will need is a cute skirt like this one with a cropped tank to match. Print out a school logo and tape it on. Also, if you want to add even more to the costume, pair it with matching pom poms.


You can do basically anything for this outfit. You just need to have black clothing of some sort. (And I m pretty sure every CF reader has some black clothing.)


If you draw some whiskers on your face and get some cheap cat ears like these from Amazon, you ll be the finest feline of the night.


This one is instantly recognizable. For Barbie, all you need is a hot pink dress and matching high heels. If you have an acid-washed denim jacket or anything sequined, be sure to wear that, too! Another fun idea is to look in your sorority house’s costume closets or even your mom’s closet for an ’80s-inspired party dress.


Make your hair huge with hot rulers, a teasing comb, and a ton of hairspray. Finish with pink lipstick, shimmery pink blush, blue eyeshadow, and tons of black mascara.

A dark angel is such a cute college Halloween costume that s a little unexpected. And it s a great way to repurpose an old set of angel wings a little spray paint and you re good to go!

For this, you need a black dress with a collar or a black dress and a white shirt with a collar. Bonus points if you can get the pigtails and act like you don t care about anything.


With a black dress, some white tights, black boots, and a round hat, you ve got yourself a costume worthy of the coven from American Horror Story.


The main ones include a little black dress, some pearls, and the iconic cat-eye sunglasses. Pull your hair into a chignon, and maybe add a tiara while you re at it.


Bonus points if you go out with a cup of coffee and a pastry in your gloved hands.

An iconic outfit of Britney s is her schoolgirl look in her music video for Baby One More Time. To get this look, you will need a black skirt that you can pair with a white button-up shirt, and don t forget the cute fluffy pink scrunchies to get the hairstyle.


Ariana Grande is another favorite celebrity that makes a great Halloween costume, especially if you have long hair you can pull into a high pony.

All you need for this quick costume is a button-down shirt (buttoned all the way up!), a sweater vest, geeky glasses, oxford shoes, and a fun bow tie. 


Bonus points if you wrap tape around the middle of your glasses and put your hair up in some disheveled high pigtails!


Full-skirted dresses are so much fun to wear and there’s no better way to celebrate than to pull yours out for Halloween! Pair a 1950s-inspired dress with a cute apron, pearls, high heels, poofy ponytail, and bright red lipstick for a Lucy vibe.


Another person you may want to dress up as is Marilyn Monroe. This is a super easy costume because you can base it on the classic scene where Marilyn is wearing a white dress.

A Sabrina costume is pretty simple, just use a red off-the-shoulder sweater, a black skirt, and a black headband. Bonus points if you can find a black cat to follow you around.


Alternate idea: A Prudence Night costume would be easy to do as well, if you have hair styling skills and/or prefer an edgier vibe!


Blair Waldorf is another iconic character that you might want to dress up as on Halloween. Blair has so many great outfits to choose from.


But, if you really want to get the Blair Waldorf look that everyone will recognize, I recommend wearing a yellow headband, which is one of her famous styles from Season 1.


Also, you should purchase a white top with a bow in the front, which will give you a classic Blair Waldorf kind of outfit.


If you have camouflage or military-inspired clothing, dressing up as G.I. Jane (or a generic person in the armed forces) is a great and patriotic option!


Some combination of skinny cargos, an army anorak, a camo jacket, or a patched button-down will work great for this look. Demi Moore as G.I. Honestly, this one is a cinch just wear head-to-toe pink! If you re shopping for this one, I recommend getting a pink midi dress like the one she wears in the movie with some pink heels to match.


If you are into comics, you may also want to dress up as your favorite character. Harley Quinn has been a popular college Halloween costume for years now, and she s still popular as ever this fall.


If you are considering dressing up as her for Halloween, I recommend basing your outfit on the looks she wears in the movie, Birds of Prey.


To get an outfit like Harley s, make sure to wear very colorful clothing. For example, one piece of clothing she often wears is a colorful jacket, so you could totally wear something like that to get a Harley Quinn costume. And, if you really want to transform yourself into Harley Quinn, make sure to stamp a black heart on your face to match her tattoo.


A classic movie character that you may want to dress up as for Halloween is Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.


This one is super easy, just make sure to wear a blue and white dress like this one and put your hair in braids and you will be good to go! Bonus points for any type of red shoe.


We all know that everything 90s is back right now, and that includes movies! Space Jam was an iconic film from the decade and a Lola Bunny costume is such a cute costume idea.


To make this easy college Halloween costume, all you need is a cropped tank and shorts in white. You may already have one of these in your closet, or you can buy a set for cheap that you ll wear again and again. Print out the TuneSquad logo and everyone will know who you are.


This is an amazing group Halloween costume just round up two friends and dress in each character s signature shade. You can wear pretty much anything so long as you re wearing your girl s colors, so have fun and bring your own style to it!

Euphoria is an insanely popular show with amazing style, so this is such a fun group Halloween costume idea!


You can go as big or as small with this as you want. Grab your bestie and go as Cassie and Maddy, or grab your group and go as the whole squad. Be sure to go all out with cool makeup for that Euphoria feel.

Honestly, for this costume, you probably don t need more than a striped or black shirt and a black beanie, although if you wanted a mask you can buy one for pretty cheap here.


I like that this is a day or night look for the characters. Also, that red beret is adorable.


For Velma, you need a pair of glasses, an orange sweater, a red skirt, and orange knee-high socks.


For Daphne, you need a purple dress or a skirt and jacket combo and a purple headband. These are some groovy costumes!

This idea will only work if you have a group of five friends. The great thing about The Breakfast Club is, the characters (and stereotypes) of the film are so recognizable, that you could totally make this work with either a co-ed group or a pack of girls!


For Bender, you ll need a pair of pants (the color s not that important), a red flannel shirt, denim jacket, wayfarers, and black fingerless gloves, which you can make by snipping the ends off of some cheap black ones. This one does require wigs and headbands, but the rest is really just colorful clothing you don t have to get it exact! Bright colors are trending this year, so break out your brightest pieces and have fun with it.


For this costume, you mainly need a flower crown and a unibrow, which you can draw in with a brow pencil. You could make your own flower crown like this tutorial or buy one.


This iconic costume is relatively easy to pull off. All you need is a red bandana, a denim shirt, and a pair of jeans.


Break out your Hawaiian shirt and a fanny pack for this. Bonus points if you can find some dad-like sunglasses and a lei.


If you re a film geek and want to catch the eye of other cinephiles, Alex DeLarge from A Clockwork Orange would be an awesome and edgy costume option. This controversial movie is a cult favorite, so you d better catch the movie on Netflix and read up on a few trivia facts on the film s IMDB page if you plan on rocking this look!


Clothing-wise, Alex s look is pretty simple you really just need a white top, white pants, black boots, and suspenders. You can make this costume a little more sexy by substituting the pants and long sleeve top for shorts and a tank top instead. A black bowler hat and cane will be easy to find at any Halloween or party supply store.


And now for the fun part of your costume the eye makeup. While leaving one eye bare (or with very light makeup on), heavily line your other eye with black liquid liner, and add false eyelashes to emphasize the look.


This costume is also great for any of you girls who want to dress as someone sinister, but not look too scary-scary on Halloween.

This costume idea is a classic for a reason everyone LOVES the movie Pulp Fiction, and Mia Wallace s look is immediately recognizable and SO easy to put together.


All you ll really need are black pants, a men s white dress shirt, and a way to make your hair look just like Uma Thurman s did in the movie. You can either buy a black bob wig from the Halloween store, or fake it by rolling your ponytail under to form a faux-bob and using temporary spray hair color. Carry a candy cigarette around with you all night (a trophy is optional), and always be the first girl out on the dance floor!


Here s another great option for all of you film buffs. Dress as the ultimate 80s teenage hero Marty McFly from Back to the Future!


To get Marty s look, wear a button-down shirt with a jean jacket (pick one up at any thrift shop if you don t have one) and your staple down vest (bonus points if it s orange). Add jeans and white tennis shoes, and look for a pair of aviation goggles at a Halloween store to wear pushed up on your forehead.


This costume idea would be fun because there are so many quotable lines from the film, and it will keep you warm if you happen to be at a bonfire or some other type of outdoor gathering. Plus, if you have a boyfriend or a best friend, they could easily make a Dr. Emmett Brown costume by wearing a lab coat and a gray wig!


I know these costumes are love/hate for some of you, but if you have a quirky sense of humor, a bit of imagination, and a small budget, this route might be the perfect one for you.

This costume is beyond easy if you re a brunette. As in the case of the Black Widow, you probably don t want to buy the actual catsuit. However, Selina s Catwoman outfit has enough accessories that the suit isn t required.


Again, go for leather leggings and add a tight black long sleeved top and high heeled boots. Buy (or make) a black mask and get goggles or sunglasses to wear on your head as ears . Rock a red lip and tell everyone you meet, there s a storm coming, Mr. Wayne.


You ve probably seen this costume at parties before but it s such a classic, I couldn t leave it off my list!


To do a Risky Business costume, you just need a men s button-down dress shirt and a pair of tube socks. I recommend wearing a small pair of exercise shorts under your shirt instead of tighty whiteys, though!


Add a pair of wayfarers to this outfit, too although Tom Cruise doesn t wear them in this particular scene, Risky Business is credited as one of the main reasons why Ray-Ban wayfarers made a huge comeback in the 80s!


You can use khaki pants or green cargo pants for this. Then you need a black long-sleeve shirt and some riding gloves.


Bonus points if you can find a belt to hold all your gadgets and ask everyone you meet, What s the sitch?


If you have a yellow skirt or pants and a blue shirt you re pretty much set. Red shoes and red hair bow like this one (which a lot of people have used for Snow White costumes) help tie the whole look together.


Bonus points if you can find something apple-themed like this bag to take with you. (Or just grab an apple from the dining hall )


You could do this costume and the next one as a group with your BFF or your significant other.


You need white tights, a black bow, a blue dress, and a white apron. If you had a long blue dress and a white apron you could do this as a Belle costume from Beauty and the Beast.


For this easy Halloween costume, you just need a white dress, red blazer, white tights, rabbit ears, and something clock-themed like this.


Who doesn t love feeling like a princess? And you totally can on Halloween if you dress up as a princess. All you need is a cute dress and a tiara.


If you really want to go all out, you can choose to dress up as your favorite Disney princess. You may think this is hard, but it is actually super easy. All you need to do is decide which princess you want to dress up as and choose a dress to match their signature color. Then grab one accessory of theirs.


For example, if you love Cinderella, wear a light blue dress and add a tiara and you will be good to go for Halloween!


Another Disney movie character that you could dress up as is Tinker Bell! I love the idea of dressing up as a fairy for a Halloween costume because you can wear wings and a cute dress.


But, if you want to make sure you look just like Tinker Bell, make sure to get a dress that matches Tinker Bell s signature green color! This neon shade is trending this year, so it s easy to find in any store.


If you saw the live-action version of 101 Dalmations, it may make you want to dress up as Cruella de Vil this Halloween, which you totally should!


All you need is a black long sleeve maxi dress and a black and white wig to really get the Cruella look!


For this costume, you need a white button-down shirt, a black skirt, and an umbrella. See if any guys you know have a red bow tie.


Bonus points if you can get your hands on a black hat like this one, which you could adorn with cheap fake flowers.

Biker gangs are real, at least in the US. My ex-step-dad is in one that blocks abusive people from entering events (mostly keeping people from disrupting funerals) and they also bring toys to kids in the hospital during Christmas. They re good people but it s still very much a gang and not a club.

There are so many new fashion trends that have been popping up recently, which might make you want to change your entire wardrobe. However, there are a few clothing items that have stood the test of time, that we can continue to style into 2024 and beyond.


Leggings have been closet staples for years now. They are always a great go-to for everyday outfits, and if you re like me, you probably own a million pairs.


Not only are leggings popular for everyday and lounging outfits, but they have recently become a staple for even fancier outfits!


This may come as a surprise, but when you see the four leggings outfit ideas below, you will understand why you should be wearing your leggings for all types of occasions.


I’ve always loved H M leggings, they are so affordable. You can get cute colorful prints or patterns for not too much money! Their prices are always amazing and their quality is surprisingly good.


Of course, no pair of leggings can beat Lululemon s. Now that I have a little more spending money and take really good care of my clothes (tip: wash gently and air dry), these will last for years before they need to be replaced!


Nordstrom Rack is a great place to find designer clothes at affordable prices. I found some of my favorite pairs of leggings there, and they re still in good shape today!


Calia leggings are the best! A very underrated brand. My Calia leggings are super high waisted but still comfortable enough to wear while running errands or doing other activities; they come in different lengths so there s sure to be a fit for everyone.


The best leggings are the ones you can wear every day. Hollister s leggings come in tons of different colors and styles, they’re stretchy but not too stretchy, and affordable ($10-$30) what more could you want?


When looking for what leggings to wear, there are a few things you should take not of to make sure you look trendy in your outfits.


First, your plain black leggings that you buy in multiples can definitely be used to create a fashionable look it s all about knowing which items to pair them with.

Also, take note of the length because if you are not a fan of long leggings, you can go for cropped leggings as well!

If you want to spice up your outfits, colored leggings and ones with prints are also a fun and trendy way to go.

And, keep in mind what style of leggings you want to go for because flared leggings (also known as yoga pants) are coming back into style I m sure you ve seen them all over TikTok.

This example of how to wear leggings is for the classic black long leggings that you love so much! These are always my go-to leggings when I am in a rush or want something simple to wear to class or running errands.


This is my go-to outfit when I want to look cute and put together but still be super comfy in my leggings.


This look pairs a light blue oversized sweatshirt (oversized sweatshirts are very in style right now) with all black long leggings. Graphics and lettering are popular on sweatshirts right now, so this one is super on-trend.


Then, don t forget your shoes and accessories because they are also important when deciding how to style your leggings. I recommend going for the trendy all-white chunky sneakers, like these, with some high ankle socks.


To spice the outfit up a bit, add some accessories, like this layered silver chain necklace!


Another favorite leggings style of mine is the cropped legging! This is perfect if you want to go for a more sporty look or if you want to wear your leggings to workout or go to the gym.


To get a fun and sporty look using leggings, pair some cropped black leggings like these with a cute workout style top like this cropped green tank top (green clothing items are very in style right now).


You can also pair this outfit with a cute hoodie, which will add to the sporty look.


To complete the outfit with some shoes and accessories, I would wear a trendy elastic headband, like this white one. Then, for shoes, I would go for something sleek and athletic, like these Adidas white sneakers!


If you want to change up your leggings for some more fun ones, a trendy way to do it is by wearing some colored leggings like these pretty light pink ones!


A great way to style colored leggings with your outfits is by finding a graphic tee to match. Graphic tees are huge right now, so an oversized graphic tee like this adorable Bratz one is a perfect choice for pairing with leggings.


What s great about this graphic tee is that it will match perfectly with your leggings! Then, for some accessories, you could go for a cute baseball cap (they are also popular right now) that matches the look.


And, don t forget about your shoes! One thing I love about leggings outfits is you can pair them with almost any shoes, but you can never ever go wrong with trendy Nike Air Force 1s.


Wondering how you can wear leggings outfits for nighttime? The new thing for leggings is the bootcut or flared legging (also known as the yoga pant).


This style of leggings was popular years ago and is now coming back as the new go-to leggings style for outfits in 2024!


What I love about this kind of legging is that it can be worn for lounging, but if you pair it with the right things, you can totally style it into a fancier look.


To get a look like this, I recommend going for all-black bootcut leggings like these (which even have a fun drawstring bow around the waist).


Then, add a trendy top like this scarf-style top for a very of-the-moment look. For shoes, I would definitely go with some heels to make your outfit look fancier, like these beige thong heels.


Also, don t forget accessories! Add a cute black baguette purse to match and some trendy chunky gold hoop earrings.

Okay. So. I m new to leggings. and I ve always kinda been told that I should wear leggings because all I am is leg (5 10, 36inseam) and that I shouldn t wear them because they hit me mid-calf- which is basically not good right? But I bought an uberrrrr cute dress from Forever 21 yesterday, but it hardly covers my bum because its not made for my long torso. how can i pull off the leggings without me looking like i have toothpick legs etc? helppp pleaseeeeee? I wear leggings all the time, and yes, lots of people make comments, or shall i say did.
I started doing workouts from Daisy Keech. And little by little i think i see some progress. If your like me, and are looking for a specific dream body, i definatly suggest Daisy Keech
If you are looking to look good without working out, skinny legs definatly look good with baggy tops. If your legs are super skinny, jeans are also super trendy right now.

Almost TOTALLY AGREE!! My only points of difference is that heels are VERY chic with leggings, and they make the legs look longer, which many of us need. Flats are for casual use. Also, leggings are chic, but very much affected by the shoes and top they can be casual, chic, or trashy. I love them with classy shoes and various types of boots (classy to warm and fuzzy). I also very much agree that most of us should have a top from mid-thigh to the butt, though I have seen some hard bodies that can show off their butt, but even then it is an edgy look. Below mid-thigh starts to look dowdy. I like the look of thick opaque leggings much better than tights, and they are great for being fashionable in cold weather.

I ADORE leggings. I was born and raised and California so I was a jeans, jeans, jeans girl, all the time. Jean pants, jean shorts, jean skirts. However, I moved to Hamburg, in Germany, this year, and discovered leggings! They re basically all I wear now! My tips:

-Wear baggy sweaters over your blouse and leggings. Think American Eagle or logo sweaters. This looks chick but also cute enough for school or just hanging out.

-Wear long socks or leg warmers under your shoes with just the top showing. This is great for when it s cold, because it adds an extra dimension to your outfit while keeping you warm.

-If you ve got a super cute blouse, but it s too short for leggings, wear shorts over the leggings. Or, wear the shirt under a (buttoned) cardigan or vest with a low neckline. The cardigan will cover up your butt while still showing off your top.

-Wear tights, too! When I go to a party or club but its super cold, I wear long black tights under my dress and wear whatever shoes I want, instead of just going in boots.

-Black is always classic. It s really fun to wear a black top, jacket, and shoes and then bright, crazy colored leggings. It brings them out and makes a statement in a good way. Also, black leggings go with anything.

-When its cold, layer your leggings. At first I didn t know how people kept walking around with skimpy leggings in the freezing (I mean freezing coming from California sun to German what? sun? has been pretty hard) cold! But then a friend told me to just pile on two or even three leggings to stay warm and still look good.

I would normally wear a baggy sweat shirt or sweater, with some uggs with my hair tied up. This is like a normal lazy day !
Or for a party look, wear one of the knitted sweaters with the black tights and some boots or flats !

I seriously live in leggings. No I m not in violation of the leggings are not pants rule, I always make sure that the crotch area is well covered. But I LOVE wearing leggings whenever I can because they re so dang comfy. To me the key is getting leggings that are thick enough that they re not see through when you bend over if by chance your top isn t long enough or comes up when you bend over. Right never worn leggins as I m short and past 35 but I have to wear a black tutu for a hen night omg! lol Was wondering whether to wear black shorts over the leggins but what shoes or boots help pls. Oh I am size 10 though.

Dr. Martens boots have a long-held reputation for being edgy and subversive; after all, they are the footwear of choice for punks and rocker chicks alike.


And, while I would definitely consider myself to be one of the least edgy people you ll ever meet, lately, I haven t been able to help but be inspired by these cool boots and the fashionistas who wear them with all manner of outfits, from casual skinny jeans and flannels to floaty peasant dresses.


Naturally, as I always do when I am inspired by a specific piece or trend, I decided to dig a little deeper. Today, I m exploring how to wear Doc Martens, with styling tips for a few different aesthetics. After all, going full-on punk can be a little (or in my case, a lot!) intimidating.


Here, I ve put together four completely different Doc Martens outfits one girly, one grunge, one sporty-femme, and one modern glam  proving that you don t necessarily have to have a super-edgy sense of style to wear them!


When you think of Doc Martens, you may be thinking of a grunge look. However, there are ways to style them with your outfit that can also give you a more girly look if that is what you are going for!


A great way to get a more girly look with Doc Martens is to pair your outfit with white Docs instead of typical black. This has become a very trendy style recently I ve seen white Doc Martens with all kinds of outfits.


For this cute look, pair your white Doc Martens with a pretty off-the-shoulder floral dress in moody tones (perfect for the fall season). Then add a chunky gold necklace for a hint of glam.


Finish the look off by styling it with this pretty gold heart locket choker necklace and matching pink mini backpack.


If you are one of those people who wants to get the grunge look by wearing Doc Martens, this is super easy!


Create an almost all-black outfit with some ripped jeans and you will definitely get the grunge look you are going for.


This look pairs some high waisted black ripped skinny jeans with all-black platform Doc Martens (the platform adds even more to the grunge look) for an on-trend vibe.


Also, it includes an oversized black biker jacket and a burnt orange bodysuit, two trending pieces for fall. Finish the outfit with some chunky gold earrings to add a trendy jewelry piece to finish off the look.


If you are looking for a way to style Doc Martens for a more casual look, this outfit is the one for you.


Oversized sweatshirts are very popular right now, especially because it is fall. They look super cute with Doc Martens, so this is the perfect opportunity for you to wear them together for a more casual outfit.

This glam take on a Doc Martens outfit pairs all-black lace-up heeled Doc Martens with high waisted blue jeans and a furry pink coat to give you a glamorous look.


The outfit also includes an all-white bodysuit that will go perfectly with the rest of the pieces.


Then, to make the outfit super glam, add a rhinestone belt and large rhinestone hoop earrings that will make you really sparkle in this outfit.

Velvet is a classic fabric that instantly gives off an air of elegance and can dress up even the simplest of outfits. 


However, velvet has also received a bad rap being that it is one of the trickiest fabrics to wear. It is often associated with little girls holiday dresses or stuffy older women, but in fact, college girls can rock velvet too!


Need some ideas and advice for looking stylish while wearing velvet? Here s our ultimate guide to how to wear velvet, with tips and tricks, outfits and more:


Although velvet is usually synonymous with special occasions, think beyond formal wear. Try and wear velvet in an everyday look to add a glam touch to any outfit.

That being said, velvet also works well with classic wardrobe staples. The best way to wear something you re unfamiliar with is to pair it with non-trendy, classic pieces like opaque tights, denim and basic cotton shirts try wearing these pieces with velvet items if you re hesitant.

While classic black velvet pieces are always a safe bet, don t be afraid to try bold colors. There are tons of velvet pieces out there in beautiful jewel tones like emerald green and royal blue that can make such a stylish impact.

Since velvet is a visually heavy fabric, pair it with more delicate fabrics for balance. I especially love how velvet looks with satin, silk and lace.

If you re still stumped on how to incorporate this material into an everyday look, I created three outfits using different velvet pieces:


For this outfit, I chose a velvet blazer with a stylish belt and created an outfit that would be appropriate for class or an outing.


Pair the blazer with a clean, crisp white bodysuit and some classic black jeans. Next, add a pop of height with this small backless heel.


This is a fun way to wear velvet for a night out. Start off with a pretty velvet dress in a gorgeous pinkish hue and pair it with some jeweled fishnet tights.


Add short heeled booties and a starlit clutch; these details will keep the ensemble interesting.


I absolutely love this skirt it s a classic, perfect for any occasion, especially with holidays around the corner.


These strappy low heels give the look a nice touch. Finally, accessorize with this 90s-inspired bag to complete the ensemble.


Of course, there are tons of other great velvet options out there, so here are some other fabulous velvet pieces I found online:


If you’re still iffy about rocking this fabric, try a velvet accessory such as a handbag, scarf or headband.


Another way to ease into velvet is with velvet tops or pants alone. I love patterned velvet items for an extra pop. Or go bold with something extra unexpected, like this mini skirt set. This is a fun way to incorporate velvet into your look, without covering yourself in the material.


Finally, velvet jumpsuits are an easy way to dress up or down for any occasion.

I have a spaghetti strap tight fitting burgandy velvet one piece pants-jumpsuit. I haven t worn it yet (even though I absolutely adore it) because I dont feel totally confident wearing it by itself and I haven t been able to figure out a way to properly style it. I was thinking maybe a tight fitting white or black small vest on top and a jean jacket over everything. After reading this post, I feel a bit more confident in my idea, but I m still not 100% sure. It said to pair the velvet with lace or silk or cotton so that makes sense but now I m thinking maybe I should wear a Lacey or silky vest with the jean jacket or even a cotton vest with little lace embellishments on it. I m just so unsure about my choices.

I absolutely love velvet. It s been my favourite fabric ever since I discovered it as a child 😁 I have no problems with wearing a velvet jacket or trousers, but I also have velvet dresses and I m tempted to wear them for work because I don t really have many other occasions to wear them, and also they re the most comfortable (but beautiful) alternative to track suit bottoms to which I got used to during lockdowns They re in rich colours too, so I wonder if they re ok for office.

I think you should totally go for it and wear your velvet dresses to work! I love them and think they are so cute and classy yet still fun and most importantly comfortable! As long as you feel good in it and it s not too short or revealing then I dont see why you cant wear velvet in the office!

I planned to pick up a velvet minidress this year, but with spring around the corner, I think I ll wait until next season to try the trend. However, I did manage to get a pair of purple velvet flats that I absolutely adore! I think it s a fun trend and I love the outfits you ve put together!

At every Halloween party, there s always that one obnoxious couple. In addition to being sloppy drunk, they re also wearing a barely-there couples costume (like Adam and Eve, or Pharaoh and a sexy Cleopatra) and going WAY overboard on the PDA. Ladies, let s all let out a collective eye roll/groan/head shake in their honor.


Then, there are the couples costumes that are just awkward and silly. I m talking about the Bert/Ernie, Ketchup/Mustard, and Lock/Key duos we ve all unfortunately seen, then immediately celebrated our single status after.


Lastly, there are the couples costume ideas that are adorable, but are impossible to convince your S/O to do. I can t tell you how many occasions I ve suggested that my boyfriend and I dress up at Beauty and the Beast, but he pretty much points and laughs at me every time.


That being said, one of the fun perks of having a significant other is having a built-in, automatic partner to dress up with during Halloween.


For this post, I collected 15 totally non-cheesy and un-obnoxious couple Halloween costume ideas. This way, you can look cute and funny with your significant other, but still come off as cool and approachable at fall festivities. And of course, although many of these ideas feature heterosexual couples, all of these costumes are great options for same-sex couples, or for you and your BFF!

For any of you theater geeks, Brad and Janet would be a crazy fun Halloween ensemble especially if you can talk your boo into catching a midnight showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show!


For Janet, wear a girly pink dress, stockings, Mary-Janes, and a cardigan. Put barrettes in your hair and carry a floppy sun hat.


For Brad s costume, you ll need a pair of khaki pants, a dress shirt, a bow tie, a jacket, and a thick pair of black framed glasses. It s a simple costume, so if your significant other isn t keen on dressing up, it might be an easy sell.


This movie came out years ago, but I consider it a modern classic! These easy-to-recognize costumes will get a lot of attention at parties because it s such a beloved film.


Juno will need to wear a red hoodie, a striped shirt, skinny jeans, and a short pleated skirt worn over your jeans. Stuff a salad bowl in your stomach, and finish with your hair in a ponytail. Bonus points for carrying around a jug of Sunny D or finding a hamburger phone.


Paulie s costume requires a maroon shirt, short yellow gym shorts, tall socks, sneakers, and a sweatband. Carry around orange Tic-Tacs, too!


I m pretty sure this is what me and my boyfriend are going to dress up as this year for Halloween. It s quirky, recognizable, and arms you with plenty of one liners and conversation starters to last you the entire night!


For Elaine, wear a floral dress or a skirt and blouse, then layer on an oversized cardigan or a boxy boyfriend blazer. Wear fold-down lace socks as well as clunky Pilgrim-esque shoes. Lastly, curl and frizz your hair, then pin it half up half down.


For Seinfeld, wear stiff light-washed jeans, clean white tennis shoes, a turtleneck, and a windbreaker or a blazer. For Kramer, wear a short-sleeved patterned button down shirt, a tan jacket, tan pants and loafers. Be sure to make your hair stick out and look wild with plenty of hairspray and a crimp iron!


Who doesn t love Arrested Development? At this point, everyone around has seen this show. Now that the characters are pretty mainstream, dressing as Tobias and Lindsay would be a hilarious choice for Halloween!


For Tobias, you ll need a pair of cut-off jean shorts, a button-down top, a bald cap, and a drawn-on or real mustache. To make it even funnier, paint your partner s face blue.


If you re doing this with your boyfriend, you could alternatively dress up as Tobias and have your boyfriend be Lindsay if he s bold enough to rock something so silly!


This costume is popular for a reason  Pulp Fiction is one of the coolest films ever, plus the only thing you really need to buy for the costume is a black bob wig and a bolo tie!


Mia s costume (aside from the hair) just needs a pair of black capris, a men s white button down dress shirt, and black flats.


For Vincent, have your sweetie wear a black suit, a white dress shirt, and the aforementioned bolo tie. The ponytail probably isn t necessary I m sure slicked-back hair will do the trick.


Your partner will love dressing up as Popeye  fake tattoos, a corncob pipe, and a sailor hat are nothing short of fun to rock. Complete the Popeye costume with a navy blue shirt, a red scarf, and jeans or white pants. Don t forget to carry around a can of spinach!


For Olive Oyl, wear a red sweater with a white shirt with a Peter Pan collar layered under it. Add a navy or black scarf, tan heels, and wear your hair in a bun.


Superman and Lois Lane is a classic couples costume for a reason every man loves to dress up as a superhero and every girl loves to dress up as a smart and sexy professional.


For Superman s costume, find a Superman t-shirt and wear it under a half-buttoned white dress shirt and a loose tie. Add khaki pants and thick black-framed glasses. Use pomade to mold your beau s hair into something sleek!


Lois s costume needs a business suit (preferably with a skirt), tall pumps, a feminine blouse, and sleek glasses. Pull your hair into a french twist and carry around a microphone.


The Hunger Games is now a classic movie franchise and it s easy to channel the two main characters for a costume. Dressing up as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark would be easy and comfortable, plus it will keep you warm if you re doing a lot of bar hopping or are at an outdoor party.


Both characters need khaki cargo pants, a black t-shirt, boots, and an anorak. Braid your hair down one side, then pick up toy bow and arrows from a costume shop and have your Peeta carry a sword. Smudge dirt and/or fake blood on your clothes and face for extra authenticity.


If you re in the mood to wear something sexy this Halloween, this is could be the costume for you!


For Hugh Hefner s costume, find a red or navy robe and pair it with a captain s hat, silky pajama pants, and a smoking pipe. (You could also go for zombie Hugh Hefner, back from the dead with a little zombie makeup.) For the bunny, wear your sexiest form-fitting dress, bunny ears, killer heels, and a bow tie.


Alternatively, if you re going with your boyfriend, it would be hilarious for you and him to flip-flop, and you wear the robe/hat and have him squeeze into a dress with bunny ears!


If you have camouflage clothes lying around and aren t afraid to wear a fake beard, a Duck Dynasty costume could be a very current and funny choice for you and your significant other.


If you don t have any camouflage clothes, they can easily be found at the army surplus store, a hunting department store, or a thrift shop. But for the most versatility, I recommend checking out your local Forever 21 for a pair of camo pants or a printed jacket. This way, you ll be able to wear it again as a fashion statement!


Add an elastic beard from the costume shop as well as either a bandanna around you head, a black beanie, or a baseball cap, then call it a day!


What makes this costume funny and recognizable is the huge contrast between Will and Carlton s style and demeanor.

For Carlton, wear a pastel button-down dress shirt, and either an argyle sweater vest or a cardigan. Add khaki pants and a pair of loafers. Alternatively, you could wear a polo shirt, and tie a sweater or cardigan around your shoulders.


If your significant other wants to dress scary, but it s not really your thing, dressing as the two main characters from Warm Bodies could be the perfect compromise.


Julie s costume just needs a pair of jeans, combat boots, a girly camisole, and a utility jacket or a military-inspired parka. Smudge brown on your face and carry around a fake rifle if you want.


R just needs to wear jeans, a t-shirt, sneakers, and a red hoodie, but the make-up for this look will be crucial is distinguishing who you are. Grayish-white face make up and charcoal smudged around your eyes should do the trick for looking like a zombie (for something less expensive, you could always use flour or cornstarch as face powder!). Bonus points for fake blood around your mouth.


Every guy, his dog, and their mother has seen Breaking Bad. Convincing your beau to dress up as Walt or Jesse will be an easy sell for certain. Sure, a Hazmat suit and goggles would make an obvious costume, but I think it would be more interesting and funny to dress up in Walt and Jesse s street looks for this costume.


For Walt, the pork pie hat and mustache/beard are crucial for defining who you are. Add a button-down green shirt, and khaki pants or white underwear/short-shorts if you dare.


As for Jesse, be sure to wear baggy jeans, skate shoes, an oversized hoodie, and a tough-looking beanie. Also, make sure to say classic Pinkman catchphrases all night! (MAGNETS!)
